Catch up with the 2015 World Cup Raffle Horse – Flight

On a recent trip to Zimbabwe we caught up with Kirsten Swan and watched  her riding Flight. Kirsten kindly wrote a brief story for our web page so that we could all see how the very popular raffle horse is doing!

Sire: Edenhope Bundy
Dam: One More Breeze

In July 2015 Flight was auctioned off in a raffle at the World Cup at Shongweni in South Africa as a 2 year old filly. She was bred and broken by Peter Choice.
Stu Olgivy from Bulawayo won the raffle but was not able to take Flight. Graham Keith then decided Zim could not lose out on a horse of this caliber so bought her off Stu Olgivy. She travelled to Bulawayo where Graham took her to a few practices. Being only 2 years old she was still a bit small so I asked Graham for first option on her. She then ended up with me in Harare. Shortly after she arrived with us, I fell pregnant so Flight had a good break and Danie starting working her slowly just before I was back into riding again.
From then on it’s been a nothing but fun. She still shys and bucks and let’s you know she is feeling good but has a huge heart and plays her best. Her first tournament in Zim was national Champs in Chipinge where she won Best Pony. She has played local tournaments since and then the Zim vs Barbarians Ladies tests this year where she won me Best No 3.
I am extremely grateful to Peter Choice for all the love and hard work he has put into these beautiful horses.
